MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER
Last Friday, a mom wrote into Northgate looking for some gently used clothing for her toddler. Illness and shutdowns are creating needs in the community and this mamma knew she could use a little extra help.
That afternoon, another Northgater eagerly did some shopping and made a special clothing delivery for the little girl. Bright, brand-new threads, sized 4T, dropped at the mother's doorstep.
The mother wrote to us:
“That same day another woman in the community reached out to me and shared her daughter's gently used clothes. As a result, in just one day my daughter's dresser is totally stocked with clothes that fit. Sometimes we have needs we think are too small to ask for help, but when we are willing to humble ourselves and trust the Lord to provide, He blesses us beyond measure. That's been something he's been teaching me through this season. It was just SO incredible to me that the Lord moved in two women’s hearts on the same day, on our behalf, and as a result our daughter’s clothing needs are completely met!”
AWESOME.
Even though we cannot be together physically yet, this is totally what the Church looks like.
It’s possible because of your hearts to serve and your generosity.
The Church isn’t canceled.
God’s love isn’t canceled.
Serving isn’t canceled.
And you are proving that right now, Northgate! You are doing stuff like this every single day!
Even in this strange and scary time, you are being the hands and feet of Jesus to a worried world. Keep caring for one another and showing the hope of Christ to all.
We will get through this together!
If you have a need, let us know . If you can meet a need, tell us how you can help .
And keep sharing your stories about love, kindness, and community in the midst of covid. Those stories keep us going!
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
