WELCOME FAITH!
Northgate Church is thrilled to announce the arrival of our new Young Adults Pastor, Faith Boss. Beginning July 1st, Faith will be joining our team to serve alongside the young adults in our church and to engage new faces at Anoka-Ramsey Community College. This exciting development is made possible thanks to the continuous support and generosity of our congregation.
Faith has a deep-rooted history with Northgate. She encountered the Lord here as a young teenager, often walking to church alone, driven by her hunger to deepen her relationship with Him. After completing her education in Wisconsin, she has been serving pastorally with kids, youth, and young adults at Eagle Brook Church in Woodbury. Now, she returns to Northgate with a wealth of experience and a passion for ministry.
We are pleased to introduce Faith through a brief and fun Q&A session so you can get to know her a little better and join us in welcoming her warmly to our community.
Q&A with Faith Boss
Q: What’s your favorite passage or book of the Bible?
A: Lately, my favorite books are James and Jonah. Both of these books have deeply resonated with me in different seasons.
Q: What do you love about Northgate?
A: The stickiness. People quickly call this place home and don’t leave! It’s a place filled with others striving to be more like Jesus!!!
Q: What excites you about Young Adult ministry and this opportunity?
A: I love the idea of creating something new! What excites me is also knowing how many consistent, dedicated, and Jesus-loving young adults are already here that I get to grow alongside and work with!
Q: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: I love Pizza Lucé’s baked potato pizza. It’s my go-to comfort food!
Q: Name a book that’s transformed you (besides the Bible).
A: Two books have really transformed my thinking. “Poverty is Not a Learning Disability” taught me effective strategies for helping students and families in need, growing my compassion and understanding. Another influential book is “Misreading Scripture Through Western Eyes.” I recommend this book to everyone and always keep multiple copies on hand.
Q: Tell us three things that your husband likes and one thing you love about him.
A: Blake loves hanging out with friends, engaging in outdoor activities like soccer, hiking, and hunting, and watching movies with me on weekends. One thing I love about Blake is how intentional he is. He doesn’t just feel love for me; he actively shows it. Love is an action for him.
Q: What’s your favorite color?
A: My favorite color is a soft yellow, but I prefer wearing neutrals or pink.
Q: What’s a pet peeve of yours?
A: People who chew with their mouth open and slow drivers!
Q: Which is better: cats or dogs?
A: I have two dogs, but I love kitties. I’d rather own a dog, but my life will be complete with a kitty—I just need to convince my husband.
Q: Any other interesting tidbits we should know about you?
A: I don’t stay up late, I love reading books, and running! I look forward to not only forming a ministry for the community but also for myself. Young adulthood is so hard, and doing it alone makes it ten times more difficult.
Faith’s enthusiasm and dedication to ministry are inspiring and there's so much more to learn about her as she gets comfortable in her new role. We are confident that she will bring a fresh, vibrant energy to our young adults' community. Please join us in welcoming Faith and her husband Blake to the Northgate family. Let’s support them as they embark on this new journey with us!
